The West Allis Nathan Hale Junior Huskies Football Program is an opportunity for youth in grades 5th - 8th, with a path to Nathan Hale High School, to develop their interest and fundamental skill level playing tackle football. It's an important first step to playing for the Nathan Hale High School Huskies in the Greater Metro Conference (one of the finest in Wisconsin) and one that can make a difference in the development of a young athlete.

What do we provide?

Quality equipment will be provided by the Jr Huskies Football Program along with approximately 120 hours of instruction from experienced USA Football certified staff.

How many games are in a season?

There are eight Saturday games in the Classic Youth Football League where players compete against other conference and local teams.

Why Jr Huskies?

Jr Huskies Football participants are also part of the Nathan Hale Huskies Varsity Program designed to connect them to high school football players in a mentoring environment. Program leadership is provided by the Head Varsity Football Coach at Nathan Hale High School. This relationship provides continuity for athletes as they prepare for high school competition -- a proven approach for optimizing success.

What do the players learn at practice?

The focus of coaching instruction includes: fundamental blocking and tackling using the most proven and safe techniques whiles instilling the value of practice time and the development of quality communication skills.

Coaches work hard to create a positive and safe environment where each player can grow to their fullest potential. It also provides a unique opportunity for youth to experience a team sport where mutual success and overcoming adversity are learned within the context of respect, pride, and camaraderie. Every player will have an important role on the team as well as an opportunity to modify that role with their attitude, effort, and mastery of skills.
